Article from Daily Courier - 6/6/09   2009 Lon Willoughby Outstanding Service Award Peggy Konecny was the 2009 recipient of the prestigious Lon Willoughby Outstanding Service Award by the Back Country Horsemen of Central AZ. It is presented each year to the member of the chapter who has demonstrated outstanding service for the chapter.  It was in honor of Lon Willoughby who was instrumental in writing our incorporation and also our application to have 501 C 3 status.  He was BCHCAZ President who died from Agent Orange. He donated a lot of our library books and videos, plus his packing supplies.  He was a wonderful person.  We initiated the award in January and gave it to him and he later died that year.  Past recipients include Wayne Pitrat, Jim Buchanan, and Jim Higgs. click photo to enlarge
